Sheet Weight Calculator

Find the weight of any sheet or plate from material, thickness, and dimensions for quoting and handling.

Sheet weight is simply the volume times the material density. It is the basis for shipping, handling, and material cost.

Formula: Weight = Length × Width × Thickness × Density

Worked Example

  1. A 48 × 96 × 0.060 in steel sheet at 0.283 lb/in³.
  2. Weight = 48 × 96 × 0.060 × 0.283 ≈ 78 lb.
