True Position

True position specifies where a feature (such as a hole) should be and how far its actual axis may deviate, using a cylindrical tolerance zone. The deviation is calculated from the X and Y offsets: position = 2 × √(ΔX² + ΔY²).

At maximum material condition, a bonus tolerance becomes available as the feature departs from MMC, allowing more positional error while still guaranteeing assembly.
