Coining
A high-pressure forming operation that plastically sets material to a precise shape or thickness.
What it means on the floor
Coining squeezes material in a closed die at very high pressure so it flows to fill the die exactly, producing sharp detail, tight tolerances, and a controlled thickness. In bending, "coining" the bend sets the angle and eliminates springback.
Because it relies on bottoming the material, coining requires far more tonnage than air bending.

Interpret Coining in the context of the drawing, governing standard, and customer requirement in front of you — the same word can carry different limits in design, quality, and production documents. Check whether a stated value is nominal, minimum, maximum, or reference-only, and whether it applies before forming, after forming, or after heat treatment.
